Italian Vittoriale

Camping near the Italian Vittoriale

The Italian Vittoriale is a complex of buildings, streets, squares, an outdoor theatre, gardens and waterways, and was built between 1921 and 1938 in Gardone Riviera on the shores of Lake Garda by Gabriele d'Annunzio with the help of architect Giancarlo Maroni, in memory of the "inimitable life" of the poet-soldier and Italian efforts during World War II. Today the Vittoriale is a foundation that is open to the public, and is visited by thousands of people every year.
